Personality:
“You’re the kind of person one unconsciously starts caring about. The kind that invokes maternal instinct.” –Kurugaya

Riki’s basically just your average, ordinary boy. Even the ranking system of Little Busters! has his default title set to that. He’s shy, modest, and honest, and according to Masato, he has the kindest heart of the group. Kurugaya points out that everyone in the Little Busters tend to gather around him, to which he denies, saying that everyone actually just follows Kyousuke. Everyone really does follow Riki, though; he’s just being modest. He can also be rather shy at time as well though, considering how worried he gets upon finding Komari’s picture book. He just automatically assumes that she would get upset about him seeing it, but as it turns out, she actually wanted others to. Additionally, he feels too awkward to look into a girl’s desk to retrieve a book for Mio. Riki, you pervert. How dare you help your friend get back her personal belongings…!

Though on that note, Riki’s also very considerate and helpful. Throughout the game’s routes, he’s constantly helping the girls with anything and everything. He assists Rin in completing the mysterious tasks she receives through her cat Lennon, he helps Kud carry boxes to her room and offers to bring her luggage in later on, and he helps Mio find her missing book, despite him wanting to leave. He even goes as far as to help clean up Kyousuke’s room all the time since the latter never does it himself. Because of this, he never minds cleaning things in general.

Out of the rest of the group, Riki has the most common sense. He constantly (and fairly bluntly) points out the lack thereof in people’s statements, whether it be aloud or inwardly. For example, Kengo goes on about how wearing his school uniform instead of his jersey is strange, but Riki points out how wearing a school uniform is the norm. Kengo’s the strange one. Also, when Kurukaya insists that Riki misheard the direction of her voice due to the echoing of the courtyard, Riki replies, saying that hearing a voice in front of you coming as if it were from behind is obviously abnormal.

He’s also the responsible one in the group, always being sure that his friends don’t do anything that they shouldn’t. At one point, Kyousuke wants to hit the arcades with Riki, but the latter suggests that they not. After all, Kyousuke had blown off 2000 yen during a particular visit. That wouldn’t be too good, would it? Whenever Kengo and Masato are about to fight without following the rules of Kyousuke’s game, Riki’s always the one to tell them not to and that they should follow the rules. Even when he’s in the middle of helping Kud and taking boxes into her room he asks to make sure it’s allowed for him to even be going into the girls’ dormitories with her. He just makes sure to play on the safe side of things.

"...A favorite place you often end up going to. Somewhere where you can feel at ease. ...For me, it's probably where my friends are. If my friends are there, any place can become my 'favorite place', I think."

Riki’s friends are incredibly important to him. When he was young, he parents died, and the loss resulted in some depression that even now Riki still refers to as the “loneliness from long ago.” Every day for him was sad and lonely—that is, until he met the Little Busters, and Kyousuke in particular. He had been the one who quite literally took Riki’s hand and pulled him out of that empty hole of depression, and into the hectic, youthful, and exciting lives of the Little Busters. From then on, he forgot about all the pain in his heart and got caught up in the fun times instead, wishing for them to last forever. Because of all of this, Riki cherishes his friends and really looks up to Kyousuke. He always goes to him for help and advice, no matter what it may be on.

As far as weaknesses go, Riki’s mostly physically weak. Even Kyousuke says how he’s the weakest among the Little Busters at first (though later on, Masato mentions how Riki's the biggest hitter on the team). He’s also narcoleptic, which he finds to be incredibly uncomfortable. More often than not, his daydreams are nightmares, and he does his best to try not to remember them. Even then though, he’s pretty sure that he couldn’t remember them anyway, even if he tried. Sometimes he even wonders if he had even been dreaming at all… Likely because of this though, he doesn’t find the feeling of falling asleep particularly pleasant for him.

Despite his narcolepsy, Riki still manages to get good grades and keep up with his work in school. Though he is not particularly good or bad in any subjects, he’s still smart, and often even helps Masato out with his homework. Whenever Kud speaks to him in English, he’s able to respond quickly and accurately without giving it much thought. He’s also fairly sharp as well, considering how easily he picked up on the fact that Kyousuke telling the boys to pick their own female groupmates for the Trial of Courage meant basically confessing their loves (of course, Masato didn’t notice!). In her route, when Kud lies about people saying things regarding her persistent studying, Riki picks up on that instantly as well.

Special Abilities: Riki's really just an ordinary boy and doesn't have any special or superhuman abilities. So... yep.

How did your character die? Too much sex with Kyousuke. Okay wow no. Riki has not canonly died, so I’m just going to go with him dying in car accident. While driving, he fell asleep at the wheel due to his narcolepsy and crashed, getting severely injured and ultimately passing away while in the hospital.

Other: And now for some random tidbits of personality quirks that don’t really fit elsewhere…! Which is mainly for myself if anything, but…
-Not fond of crowds
-Doesn’t eat too much
-Doesn’t particularly like coffee
-Dislikes being called cute
-Is a bit afraid of dogs since they look like wolves
-Falls for pranks easily, considering how Kurugaya easily tricked him into sitting on a worn out chair that broke as soon as he touched it
-Doesn’t hate reading, but doesn’t actively read or anything either
-Right-handed

Third Person:
One month.

Riki has been here for one month now. He has been dead for one month. It’s strange to think about, considering how despite him apparently being dead at the moment, he still feels… well… alive. Days go on just as they had in his life prior to this apparent death, especially with some other members of the Little Busters being here with him. They still goof off. They still play baseball together. They still come up with stupid nicknames for the rankings. They still live. Or at least in some sort of manner, anyway. Everything for the most part feels the same. The only difference is that some of the Little Busters are missing, and that this world is totally different from his own and contains totally different people. It feels somewhat normal, yet he’s dead. It’s so surreal, and he often muses about it.

Lately, however, he has been musing over something completely different—monster fish. Ever since Kyousuke learned of the rumors of this afterlife legend, it’s all he has been talking about. He’s even determined to find it with the help of the Little Busters. Naturally, Riki’s rather skeptical about this. How the heck are they supposed to catch something like that? Besides, a fish of such a massive (but rumored) size can’t really exist, can it? Then again, a lot of the things here seem like things that shouldn’t normally exist either. But loads of people come from loads of different worlds, so… maybe it’s possible! It’s a longshot, but…

…Okay, no. Riki’s not seriously going to consider a giant fish the size of a house actually existing. That’s ridiculous! Even if the others think it could be true. Can’t be true, nope, nope, nope. That’s just silly. Though, between how many ridiculous things the Little Busters seem to manage and how many ridiculous things have already occurred in this world… Yeah, he’s really not sure what to think about this right now. Kyousuke and the others are probably waiting for him right now though, so he should get going, shouldn’t he? Let’s see what happens. It could be fun, at least.

Did you read the rules and F.A.Q.? NO WHY WOULD I EVEN yes I did
